Course Rules - Safety - Information

The 2024 Drumstick Dash and Pi Run combined fields are limited to a total of 850 runners. We will have staggered corral starts to facilitate social distancing during start of race. To further enhance the runner experience and ensure everyone has a safe race, NO STROLLERS OR PETS are permitted in the Drumstick Dash or the Pi Run. Runners may wear headphones if they choose. However, please note that you must be able to hear the instructions of race officials at all times during the race. Please adjust volumes accordingly. Thanks for your understanding and have a great race.

The Cranberry Cruise Mile and the Cranberry Kids Half Mile are both fun runs. There will be a clock at the finish line but no individual timing. Strollers are allowed in the Mile and Half Mile if you wish to run with the whole family. In the Cranberry Kids Half Mile parents may participate with their children. Only the kids need to be registered for this event.

Family Team Challenge

The Family Team Challenge is a great way to include the whole family in a Thanksgiving Day event and also win a great prize. Awards will go to first and second place for the family that recruits the Largest Family Group:

Awards are based total number of members finishing any of the events. Prizes are provided by Pizza Luce.

If you plan to participate in the Family Team Challenge you should come up with a Team Name. You will be asked the Team Name during the registration process.

Location

All events are run around Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis. Registration and packet pick-up take place in the Lake Harriet Bandshell, 4135 West Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55419. The start and finish lines for all events are on the west side of Lake Harriet near the Bandshell parking lot.

Parking

Parking is available on the residential streets surrounding Lake Harriet and in nearby Linden Hills. It is a short walk from most residential parking on the west side of Lake Harriet. We ask that you DO NOT park on the parkway around the lake as we need the whole width of the roadway for the runners. If you do park along the race course, you will not be permitted to leave until all runners are finished, which is approximately 9:45 a.m. The bandshell parking lot is closed except for official race vehicles.

Course Description

The Drumstick Dash 10K course is USATF certified and consists of two loops around Lake Harriet on the roads. Course is moderately hilly on north and south ends, flat on east and west sides.

The Pi Run uses the same start and finish lines as the Drumstick Dash 10K. The difference is the Pi Run is one lap around the lake which is approximately 3.14 miles. This is a little more than 5K, which is 3.1 miles. The Pi Run course is not certified.

The Cranberry races use out and back courses on the west side of Lake Harriet. Again, the start and finish lines are the same as the Drumstick Dash 10K. The Cranberry Cruise One Mile is a USATF certified race course.
